Representatives from the Basque left-wing nationalist group have criticised the government for "not lifting a finger".
The Basque nationalist left-wing on Tuesday called on the Spanish Government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero to restore their legitimacy. The outlawed political party Batasuna said its legalisation was "one of the minimums" of a "democratic administration" and were critical of the government who, they said, "have not lifted a finger".
During a press conference held in Bilbao, Batasuna spokespersons Txelui Moreno and Marian Beitialarrangoitia, accompanied by other members of the Basque nationalist left-wing including Rufi Etxeberria, described the move made by ETA as "a first important step" and called on the Basque Government, as well as the Popular and Socialist parties of Spain, to "take steps, even if it isn''t enough".
