Four arrested linked to ETA taken to Madrid

Four people have been arrested linked to Ibai Beobide Araza, the alleged ETA member who was arrested in Villabona (Gipuzkoa) on Saturday as part of a routine control operation.

Spanish police detained three people in Hernani and a woman -Euri Albisu- in Segura (Gipuzkoa). A couple arrested in Hernani is accused of housing the alleged member of ETA Ibai Beobide Arza, who was arrested while riding a bicycle through a roadblock near the town of Asteasu in the northern Basque country on Saturday. He was found to be carrying a pistol and false papers.

The arrest was carried out in Villabona as part of a routine control operation. The suspect was carrying false documentation and a gun and has been linked to the attack on EITB in December 2008.

Spanish Civil Guard have registered three houses in Hernani and Segura (Gipuzcoa) that belonged to the four people arrested today. Two other flats in the Basque towns of Bilbao and Larrabetzu have also been registered today.
